Trained from a rather young age in the arts of swordsmanship and a mix of martial arts/brawling, he's mastered several styles as well as forming a unique style to suit himself. As a being of dark energy, he's able to manipulate shadow and dark energy with relative ease, using both for various means.
Raised in a world of neo-Medieval tech and perpetual darkness, Joseph was trained in several different forms of combat though he excelled in swordsmanship. He soon began training himself the the arts of shadow magic in order to further his abilities. When a spell went wrong, he was torn from his own world and ended up in Paragon City.
